How I became a representational Artist
My move to Albuquerque, NM from San Diego, CA was a leap of faith and a new beginning. The move ignited my creativity that had sat neglected. I started experimenting with paints. Then reality hit and I had to turn in my brushes for a keyboard. Fast forward ten years. I retired and turned my office into a studio. Around that time my partner Dr. Norman Katz (drblue) introduced me to Leo Neufeld a distinguished master painter in the style of the old masters. He agreed to be my mentor and moved me through the steps to create a realistic painting. The first attempt was a study of a Peter Paul Rubens painting (left) I have been creating art one way or another all my life, but even so, I was amazed how successful it worked out. Leo mentored me for about a year before I moved to Memphis, TN. In that time I painted two other studies and took life drawing classes. My move to Memphis started another journey - to discover my style. As you visit the sections of this website you will get to see my evolution.
